Many fabricators and all of the big box stores have you choose your stone from a small piece that more often than not will not match the slabs used on your job as natural stone varies widely from block to block.
Quartz
With access to 8 of the leading lines of quartz slabs, we have hundreds of colours of quartz to choose from. Quartz is an ideal material for those who do not like the natural variation of granite or marble. Being a man-made product, the colours are consistent from slab to slab. Quartz is extremely strong as well as non-porous. While quartz is also resistant to heat, it can be damaged in extreme cases.
With the advancement of technology, new products are constantly becoming available. One such product is Dekton, by Cosentino. This new ultra thin product allows for specialty as well as traditional applications.
Marble
While marble has some of the most desirable colours and patterns, it is recommended to be used only for looks and not for durability. Marble in a kitchen will be high maintenance and will wear quite quickly. Use this material in your powder room or fireplace to get the best results,
